The Instructional Team

Expertise built from experience.

PHAST is delivered by professionals who have spent their careers leading, managing, and responding to the very situations they now teach.

The curriculum combines decades of operational experience in hospitality security, law enforcement, fire and life safety, and emergency management into a single certification program developed specifically for today’s hotel environment.

This is not academic instruction. It is operational knowledge refined through years of real-world responsibility.

A Multidisciplinary Approach

One curriculum. Multiple disciplines.

Hospitality emergencies rarely involve a single discipline. A guest disturbance may involve security, management, emergency medical services, law enforcement, or the fire department within minutes.

PHAST was intentionally built by professionals from multiple operational backgrounds to ensure every topic is taught from the perspective of those who have managed these incidents firsthand.

Instruction Led by Subject Matter Experts

Four disciplines. Firsthand authority.

i.

Hospitality Security Leadership.

The PHAST curriculum has been developed and curated under the direction of ownership with more than twenty-five years of executive leadership in hospitality security, responsible for protecting some of the country’s most recognized hotels, nightlife venues, luxury residential properties, and special events.

ii.

Law Enforcement.

Instruction is delivered by retired members of the New York City Police Department whose experience in investigations, crisis management, leadership, and public safety provides practical insight into the realities of incident management and professional decision-making.

iii.

Fire and Life Safety.

Emergency preparedness and fire and life safety instruction is delivered by experienced New York City Fire and Life Safety professionals with extensive hotel operations experience and a comprehensive understanding of FDNY regulations, emergency planning, and life safety systems.

iv.

Emergency Management.

Safety, operational awareness, and emergency management principles are taught by an authorized FEMA instructor, providing participants with nationally recognized emergency management concepts adapted specifically for hospitality operations.

Why It Matters

Experience cannot be replicated.

The effectiveness of any training program depends on the credibility of the people delivering it. PHAST instructors have managed incidents, supervised operations, developed emergency procedures, worked alongside public safety agencies, and led security programs in demanding hospitality environments.

Participants learn from professionals who understand not only what the standards require, but why they exist and how they are applied in real hotel operations.

The PHAST Difference

Built by the industry. Taught by the industry.

The PHAST curriculum was not adapted from a generic security program. It was created specifically for hospitality by professionals whose combined experience spans:

01

Hospitality Security Leadership

02

Hotel Operations

03

NYPD Law Enforcement

04

FDNY Fire and Life Safety

05

FEMA Emergency Management

06

Risk Reduction and Operational Planning

That combination of disciplines provides a level of expertise rarely found within a single hospitality training program.
